“Do You and Do You Unapologetically” was the strong message presented by keynote speaker A’ric Jackson at the Student Council District Spring Meeting held in Ekalaka March 24. A’ric was passionate as he inspired his listeners to accept and embrace their individuality. He willingly shared a very sad and challenging part of his life that required him to forgive his own father so he could move forward and become the inspiring person he is today.

Plevna students Dacy Buerkle, Jenna Paul, Sophia Dulin, Chase Drange and Laylah Dulin had the opportunity to hear A’ric’s presentation and also be involved in a 40 minute small group workshop. A’ric encouraged students to destroy the box they had built to protect themselves from the hurt that can be inflicted by others.

Julie Russell, the area Tobacco Prevention Specialist, gave each attendee an opportunity to find out what it is like to breathe with COPD. Students were able to commit to living a tobacco-free life.

Two Air Force Staff Sergeants and one Air Force Major allowed students to see the demanding training and the unique equipment that is a part of military life today.

Spending the day with area Student Council members and seeing a world of possibilities was an excellent opportunity for the students. They definitely enjoyed the day
