Helena – Lacy Strohmeyer is ringing in the new year with an extra $50,000 claimed from the December 20 Powerball drawing. The ticket was purchased at Reynolds Market, Lake City Shopping Center, Baker.

Lacy, having found out she won right after the drawing, had some time to think about how to spend her winnings. She plans to use most of the winnings to buy a house. Lacy’s win is even sweeter because she chose to pay the extra $1.00 for the Power Play option, which multiplies any non-jackpot wins up to 5X. This changed her ticket from a $10,000 win to a $50,000 win.

Although this is Lacy’s first big Lottery win, she enjoys playing Montana Lottery games regularly. She advises other players that “it can happen!” Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night with a current jackpot of $120,000,000.

The Montana Lottery was created by referendum in 1986. Since then, it has paid over $483 million in prizes and returned approximately $217 million to the State of Montana
