The Community Fund Yard Sale sponsored by the Insurance Store on June 27 exceeded the expectations of organizers. “Though people came early, it worked out really well,” Jade Boggs, Insurance Store agent, said.

The yard sale, silent auction, games and lunch raised approximately $2,000 for the Community Fund and other local charitable organizations. “I didn’t have any expectations, but it exceeded any expectations I would have made,” Boggs said.

Raffle tickets will continue to be sold until July 17 for a chance to win an Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan autographed football, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan autographed photo, both donated by Shann Schillinger; and $250 in Baker Bucks donated by the Bank of Baker. The proceeds from the raffle will be added to the funds already received.

“We appreciated all the support of local businesses and people who donated or bought something even when they didn’t need it. There was a lot of support,” Boggs said.
