“Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway,”

Twenty-five seniors entered the Longfellow Gymnasium to “Pomp and Circumstance” processional performed by the Baker Symphonic Band under the direction of Jill Whiteman.

Superintendent Don Schillinger welcomed family and friends to the 99th Baker High School Commencement.

A class video was shown before salutatorian Tori Nelson and valedictorian Mason Melby presented their addresses.

Jay Hoversland, art teacher for Baker High School, gave the 2014 commencement address. Mr. Hoversland has been with the Baker School system for the past seven years.

Diplomas were presented by Christy Follmer, School District #12 Board chairperson. Don Schillinger and David Breitbach presented the seniors with their awards. Schillinger then introduced the top ten scholars: Mason Melby, Tori Nelson, Jordan Walker, Darby Bettenhausen, Kiana Henneberry, Jeffrey Fisher, Justin Irgens, Cody Perry, Travis Koenig; Kalli Post and Dustin Irgens tied for tenth.

Other graduates were Cody Beyers, Shad Bondell, Zoey DeBuhr, Kelli DeFrance, Caden Dukart, Chance Ehret, Paitton Herbst, Cody Hickey, Jordan Livengood, Heather Lowery, Samantha Smith, Margaret Uecker, Jamila Vogel, and Jonathan Wiseman.
