Graveside services for Rosa Rittberger, 98, of Bolivar will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Bonnievale Cemetery in Baker. Rosa passed away May 9, 2014, at her residence with her family at her side. She was born to Christopher and Alice Seemann in Chicago, Ill. She was saved at a young age and was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Bolivar.

Rosa married Ralph Parks and they were the parents of four children with only her daughter Beverly surviving to adulthood. Ralph passed away in 1976 and Rosa was later married to Rudolph Rittberger who preceded her in death in 1992. She lived in Montana and the Black Hills area of South Dakota for many years prior to moving to Bolivar in 1999, coming from Sturgis, S.D. Rosa was a nurse and truly enjoyed taking care of others as she worked in the hospital. During World War II, she worked as a welder on the new aircraft carriers in the northwestern U.S. and she served as a postmaster, grocery store clerk, and gas station attendant in Rock Springs, Mont. for a time, as well. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Stockton Visually Impaired Group. She had a knack for working with animals, training dogs, and riding horses. She loved to make crafts for her family and friends.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Ralph Parks and Rudolph Rittberger; son Ervin Parks; daughters Flossie Parks, Elsie Parks, and Beverly Parks Wheeler on June 13, 2013.

She is survived by her grandson, Rusty Wheeler, of Castle Rock, Colo.; granddaughters Jessie Wheeler of Bolivar, Lena Conner and her husband John of Bolivar, Arris Rucker and her husband Carl of Dunnegan; great-granddaughters Kasey Henson and her husband James, Kimberly Harlow and her husband Patrick, Keely Wheeler, Mackenzie Wheeler, Kobi Wheeler and his wife Ashley, Kassi Slagle and her husband Jamie, Alanzo Conner and his wife Amanda, James Conner; great-great-grandchildren Bradley and Alexis Henson, Kielynn and Kaelix Harlow, Nevaeh, Ian, Devon and Kyra Wheeler.
