Some members of the BHS speech and drama team traveled to Sidney Nov. 2 for their first meet. Not all were able to attend since many are still competing in football and volleyball. Overall, the team did quite well at the Class A meet, finishing in third place overall. Teams competing included Sidney, Miles City, Laurel, Roundup, Forsyth, Hardin, Glendive, Culbertson, Glasgow, Froid/Med Lake, Fairview, Circle, Huntley Project, and Baker.

In serious solo, Olivia Mahon finished in second place with Brianna Rambur in fifth. Both young ladies have written their own pieces and are still working on the finishing touches. This was an excellent meet for both of them.

In expository, newcomer Jacob Weimer presented an informative speech on teen suicide. Jacob finished in third place overall.

Two freshmen, Taiken Goerndt and Megan Greiff, competed in classical duo and finished in third place. These two young ladies did very well against seasoned competitors and showed a great deal of improvement.

Two other newcomers to the activity, Buddy Shaw and Jaden Miller, competed in humorous oral interpretation. While they did not make it to the final round, both got to see firsthand what it takes to succeed in this event and both showed a great deal of improvement.

In LD Debate, Caden Dukart made it to the final round and lost in a very close debate.

The students have a week off now and their next meet will be in Circle Nov. 16.
