Neumann assumes command of brigade

The Brigade conducts basic and advanced individual training for all Army infantrymen, transforming nearly 20,000 civilians into soldiers every year.

At the ceremony, Colonel Neumann was joined by his wife Kim and daughters Hannah and Tess. Also in the audience at the change of command were Jon s father and sister. The Neumann family moved to Fort Benning this summer from Carlisle Barracks, PA where he spent the past year attending the Army War College. He graduated from the War College June 9 with a master s degree in strategic studies. In addition to his degree, Colonel Neumann received a writing award presented by the Military Officers  Association for his strategy research project on the All-Volunteer Force.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neumann of Baker, he is a 1985 graduate of BHS and a 1989 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
