A funeral service for Roger Hickey, 46, of Baker was held April 2, 2013 in the chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Interment was in the Bonnievale Cemetery in Baker. A reception was held at Thee Garage and Showroom following the graveside service.
Roger passed away March 27, 2013 at his home south of Baker.
Roger Dreo Hickey was born July 16, 1966 in Miles City, a son of David Gene and Deborah Jean (Nicks) Hickey. He grew up in Baker where he attended Baker public schools. Following school, Roger joined the United States Navy. April 11, 1982, Roger and Stephanie Lynn Stoldorf were married in Miles City.
Following his marriage, Roger worked as a roofer and eventually took on full construction jobs. He became a “Storm Contractor”, traveling around the United States doing insurance company restoration work. Roger began doing general construction jobs between Minot, N.D. and Baker, Mont. with the help of his two sons, Dustin and David. Roger has just finished the remodeling of the former Gene Huntley Law Office in Baker.
When Roger had some free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with his family.
Roger is survived by his wife, Stephanie Hickey, of Baker; his children, Dustin Hickey of Baker, Dezarae (Brian) Hickey-Jensen of Gillette, Wyo., David Hickey of Baker, Daevun Hickey, Dallis Hickey and their mother Tracey Voeller, all of Grandville, N.D.; two grandchildren, Brenner Jensen and Cadence Brown; his parents, Deborah (Roger) Singer of Baker and David (Terry Bondy) Hickey of Baker; his brother, Quentin (Krystal) Hickey, of Baker; his sister, Marc-Annette (Kelly) Steen, of Baker; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
