Helen F. Hanson passed away Oct. 15, 2012 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker.

She was born in Laurel, Aug. 14, 1926 to Fred and Elizabeth Feuerbacher. Helen married Clifford H. Hanson Nov. 17, 1945 and together they raised three children, Cliff Jr., Janet, and Steven.

During her married life, Helen and her family lived in Conrad, Moccasin, Box Elder, and Outlook. When Cliff retired from his career as superintendent of schools, the couple settled in Redstone where Helen worked for the dentist, Dr. Tom Lidahl, in Plentywood.

Later Cliff and Helen joined the “snowbird” circuit and resided in Yuma, Ariz., for the winter months. After Cliff suffered a massive stroke in 1995, Helen became his full-time caregiver but they continued the snowbird life until 2009 when they relocated in Baker to be near their daughter Jan.

Family was always important to Helen. She looked forward to family visits and especially loved August when the family gathered in Big Sky for a week of golfing, swimming, card playing, and visiting.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Lydia; brothers George and Fred; and a grandson, Scott.

Helen’s husband Cliff, son Cliff (Sheila) Hanson, daughter Jan (Steve) Stickney, and son Steve (Jenny) Hanson survive as well as nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Helen F. Hanson was held Oct. 20 in the chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Cremation has taken place. Memorials can be made to the Special K Ranch, Box 479, Columbus, MT 59019.

Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.stevensonfuneralhome.com.

Arrangements were under the care of Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker.
